Conjuring

Conjuring is a debated topic. Basically the idea is that this class of spells create things from nothing. However there is also a little thing where you can't create things from nothing. So the debate is are you gathering useless pieces of energy and molecules of matter and turning it into something else or are you stealing? So anything where you are suddenly in possession of something you didn't previously have without putting in money or effort is stealing. It's an interesting theory but if you follow it to strictly all magic becomes evil. Since if you create fire out of thin air you're actually taking it from somewhere else. If you create water you're taking it from someone etc... I like the idea of using waste particles in the environment around us much more. Of course there is the third option. It's just magic.

I think if you wanted a scientiful answer it would most likely be that the engery used to make to spell is transformed into the matter of the object, or that it turns random matter into what you want. i.e. the air where you want a cake is rearanging into a cake.
