MacAlister, Katie

Katie MacAlister is a comedic romance writer. She's so funny that my fiance ignores the romance descriptor and reads it. She has two series and several stand alones. I'm going to leave the non paranormal ones out so I wont be reviewing everything she's done. Aisling Grey is one of her series. Aisling is a guardian and a dragons wife, sometimes. Before she suddenly turned magical she had no idea she's possessed any 'gifts'. There are three cooks so far. You Slay Me, Fire Me Up, and Light My Fire (coming out November 2006). Watch her make a bumbling mess out of everything. Maybe this girl should get some lessons. Her vampire series is also hilarious. It kind of pokes fun at the other, more serious, vampire romance novels. There are four adult books and two teen books (teen books written under Katie Maxwell) in this series. A Girls Guide to Vampires (adult), Sex and the Single Vampire (adult), Sex Lies and Vampires (adult), Got Fangs? (teen), Circus of the Darned (teen), and Even Vampires Get the Blues (adult, coming out in may 2006). One of her side books, Blow Me Down, is about virtual reality. There is a virtual reality program where you can live the life of a pirate. Work your way up from deck hand to captain. Amy's daughter talks her into trying it out. Problem is that there is an unhappy ex staff member that will risk Amy's and captain Corbain's life to get the money he feels he's due. Now they're stuck in virtual reality. Can this by the beginning of a beautiful relationship? Hard Days Knight isn't really a paranormal but it's good. It's set at Ren Fest. The main character goes because her friend promises to find her a man. She ends up learning how to use a lance. She gets embroiled in a competition scene. End up trying to solve a mystery of the damage and equipment. (iliana you should check this one out. if memory serves me right she's either a vet or works with horses in a medical capacity.) She has a book called Just One Sip coming out in October 2006. Her other books include Noble Intentions, The Trouble with Harry, The Corset Diaries, Noble Destiny, and Improper English.
