Charlaine Harris writes the Southern Vampire stories. Dead tile Dark, Living Dead in Dallas, Club Dead, Dead to the World, Dead as a Doornail, Bite (anthology), and coming in May Definitely Dead. These books also have vampires, werecreatures, and faeries. In addition the main character is psychic. However, being a psychic isn't particularly good for personal relationships. Think about it, you're walking down the street and in your head you're hearing all the lude thoughts that your significant other is having about other people. Not good. Luckily she can't hear the thoughts of the supernatural creatures. It gets her into all kind of troubles but it does give her friendship. She also as a book called Grave sight. I think this will be developing into a series. The main character can sense the final location of a dead person and share their last moments. Its located in the mystery section. Before she was writing about psychics or graves Harris was writing her shakespear series. It's also located in the mystery section. Unfortunately I haven't read any of them and know nothing about them.
