Gilman, Laura

Laura Gilman writes science fiction. She has two series and has contributed to a third. Her Retriever series is fun. It has two books Staying dead and Curse the dark. There was supposed to be a third called Bring it on in November 2005 but we haven't been able to get it at my bookstore. I'm putting an e-mail into the author and will get back to you with more info (hopefully). Basically the main character retrieves stolen goods using her magical powers. This can get pretty sticky sometimes. Who knows who stole what first and who's leaving what out. Checkout the trouble Wren gets herself into. This retriever has nothing to do with dogs. The second series is a kids series. It's called Grail quest. Obviously a series of Camelot tales. She's also written books in the Buffy the Vampires Slayers teen series. I'm not positive but I think Buffy may have gone out of print. If it hasn't yet it probably will soon. But definitely check out the retriever series in a science fiction section near you.
