Harrison, Kim

Kim Harrison writes a series of novels about a witch who's made an art of getting into trouble. She has 5 books (Dead Witch Walking, The Good The Bad and The Undead, Every Witch Way But Dead, Dates from Hell (anthology), and coming in June a Fist Full of Charms). Rachel (the witch) used to work for the government agency in charge of magical creatures. Only problem is it sucked. So she decided to quit. No one quits. See what kind of trouble she gets herself into running away from her old job. She pairs with a vampire named Ivy and a pixie named jinx. It's great. Along the way you'll meet vampires (undead and alive), werewolves, pixies, demons, and elfin folk. I can't wait for her next story. Oh and I almost forgot to tell you about how she mixes in real life. She talks about Ivy's issues with blood addiction, Rachel having to buy things for her spells, and jinx having to feed his like 20 kids. Almost no one mixes in day to day issues. It makes it more real.
