Goblin Tales by Jim C. Hines

This book is a series of short stories by Jim C. Hines. I loved each one of them. I have read a lot of Jim's stuff and I look forward to reading more. He has this Libronancy (sp?) series coming out and there is a short story teaser in this book. Now I'm even more eager to read his book.

River Marked by Patricia Briggs

Science Fiction. Mercy Thompson series. I really enjoyed this book. I look forward to the next book. Her characters are growing strong and powerful. They are developing in ways that are cool and appropriate for their individual personalities. I really look forward to the next book.

Tangled

Rated G. I loved this version on Rapunzel. They gave her a personality. Told it from her side and not some princes side. You spend your time in her prison living her life and then you get to join her in her escape. The time you spend with her before her escape gives her escape more meaning to the viewer. Even though I saw this when it was out at theaters I bought a copy to watch at home.

With a Little Help by Doctorow

This is a small print book that's hard to get a hold of and expensive. Just another reason we like our nooks. I'm glad we didn't buy an expensive version of this anthology. It was choppy and had a lot of abbreviations that I didn't know or understand. Most of the stories started after their beginning and ended before their conclusion. I likes 2 of the stories. This may have been nicer if an editor had attacked it.

Trouble Maker by Evanovich

Trouble Maker by Evanovich. Graphic Novel. These books are fun and interesting. The involve fast cars and crazy people. It also involves car races (which is probably the only part I'm not interested in). This one also involves voodoo and stolen statues, boats, and people. There is also one very confused chicken locked in an expensive car.

Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole

I found this movie kind of dull. It would be great for kids but lacks an adult component. It can be a good pick me up film. There is an unexpected evil and a hero that rises above. If I had kids that wanted to watch this film I'd get it for them but I wouldn't watch it again.

Wicked Lovely by Melissa Marr

Wicked Lovely by Melissa Marr. Teen Fantasy. It's the first book in her Wicked Lovely series. I look forward to reading more of her books. She is well educated in fairy lore. I look forward to reading more about the winter queen, the summer king, and the girl who makes everything come to a head.

Anita Blake Vampire Hunter Circus of the Damned v1

Anita Blake Vampire Hunter Circus of the Damned v1. Graphic Novel. Still loving these. I know basically the same review over and over. Seems like ground hogs day not April fouls. BTW not an April fouls joke. I don't get into practical jokes. So again fun to see this book in graphic novel form. Still no sex.

Next one of these doesn't come out til late this year. Sigh I'll be waiting for it.
