Real Vampires Don't Diet by Gerry Bartlett

Real Vampires Don't Diet by Gerry Bartlett. Romance. Fourth book in the Gloria St. Clair series. I love this series because Gloria is a real woman. She's eternally a size 12. I'd love to be a size 12 but I'm sure that that's because I'm a size 16 or 18. If I was a size 12 I'm sure I'd feel the need to lose weight then too. Gloria is helping Ray (vampire musician) get used to being a vampire. Ray is trying to get into Gloria's pants. Gloria is dating Blade and has been on and off for a 1000 years. It's fun and I'm happy when i read it.

Living with the Dead by Kelley Armstrong

Living with the Dead by Kelley Armstrong. Science Fiction. 9th book in the women of the otherworld series. I really enjoy this authors works. Hope and Karl went to help Hope's friend through the loss of her husband. There are complete psychopaths, half demons, werewolves, and just your regular humans all thrown together into the book and mixed around. It's great.

Patricia Briggs - Signing/Reading

Monday, Feb 9, 2009: Ann Arbor MI at 7:00 PM
A reading/signing at Borders at 3140 Lohr Drive.
I took the day as a vacation day so I can go early and get wrist bands. Usually when Borders does a signing they hand out wrist bands early in the day so that you don't have to get there really early and just sit in line. It's nice and keeps things more orderly.

Playing with Fire by Katie MacAlister

Playing with Fire by Katie MacAlister. Romance. Pages 331. The first of the Silver Dragons Novels. It's a very good book. I am very glad I waited til the second book came out. I'm going to read one book from another series and then read the second book. This book is really as good as the other dragon books from MacAlister. May is a doppleganger and is bound to a demon lord. May is also Mayling the famous theif. Gabriel is the weyr of the silver dragons. The silver dragons were cursed never to have a mate born to them. Good thing May was never born.

Happy New Year and books

Happy New Year!
To wrap up 2008 I'm going to post the rest of the books I managed to finish all at once.

Mary Janice Davidson - Fish out of water. Romance. Pages 270. I love this series. Fred Rocks. Fred is a mermaid or undersea folk as they prefer to be called. This story is fun and the characters are people you'd love to be friends with. I could read this one again in a heart beat. To bad I'm already behind.

Madelyn Alt - No Rest for the Wiccan. Romance. Pages 295. This is fourth book in the bewitching mystery series. Maggie is the daughter and sister. Mom is catholic and sister is a big mouth. If you're pagan you see this combo often. Heck one of the big jokes is Hello my name is ___ and I'm a recovering catholic. Even though Maggie is doomed to be let down by her sisters promise to keep things a secret she decides to help her sister get rid of a ghost. Things only get more interesting from there.

Laurell K. Hamilton - Swallowing Darkness. Science Fiction/Fantasy. Pages 365. This is part of the Merry Gentry Series. I loved this book and could reread it. Despite the title this one isn't really about her Darkness it's about Sholto. Sholto is King of the Sluagh. It's one of the few positions in the fae that is voted on. He's also one of the fathers of Merry's twins. Can one person rule in more then one court? Can she marry more then one man? So many questions that have yet to be answered. It'll be interesting to see the next one.
