Ghosts

So I have been thinking about ghosts a bit lately and have come up with a dandy of a question. If you find a ghost do you have an obligation to help put it to rest? I mean in most theories ghosts are tortured souls who long for the afterlife. But what if that isn't the case? What if they are actually criminals of some sort. Then how do you know which ghosts should be helped and which ones you should completely ignore? I'm not very helpful today when it comes to answers. Well sometimes the answers are in the questions.

Practical powers

Witches get all the nice practical powers that I so wish I could have right now. They get to cast privacy spells, binding spells, water spells, food spells, and much much more. So how would I use all these nice spells? First of all I wouldn't have to worry about grocery's. Nummy Nummy summoned food. Second there would never be another morning of me running into the bathroom because my mother-in-law to be comes downstairs while I'm still partially naked. I would have so many shields on the space I use to keep unexpected visitors out. I'd have warning spells to make doorbell noises when people came down the stairs. I'd have lots and lots of spells. I'd also have spells to keep my anger in check.

Pirates of the Caribbean part 3

Pirates of the Caribbean part 3. I enjoyed this movie. Now I wouldn't have gone right back in to see it a second time like some movies I've seen. However I also don't feel like I wasted my money. I do want to own it when it comes out. I will be seeing the fourth movie. Yes they did leave room for a fourth movie. Basically everyone has got to go to the edge of the world to save Jack. Without him they can't stop the East Indian Company and save the world. :)

Rises the Night by Colleen Gleason

Rises the Night by Colleen Gleason. Romance. Pages 334. I enjoyed this book. It's the second in the Gardella vampire chronicles. This one is a historical. Normally I don't like historical books but this author has a way with writing. She's really good and I recommend her books to well almost anyone. Basically she's been grieving over the lose of her husband for around a year when a major threat to the future of humanity has to show it's evil head. On top of that a big time vampire hunter has gone missing and the new vampire hunter is all on her own.

This author will be signing at Barnes and noble in Rochester hills on June 6th.

Hero's

If you haven't watched the last episode yet don't read this.

I loved the season end of hero's. That the brother came back to save his bro was the perfect ending to me. I also liked how they set up the next season. For awhile I was like what are they going to do when they save the world. Then I remembered whenever you have super hero's you will have super villains. I'm very happy with the show. For a bit in the middle I kind of lost interest but the end picked me back up.

Third (the shrek movie)

Third (the shrek movie) - This movie was great. I highly recommend seeing it. I never thought that they could pull off the second movie and they did. I was worried that a third was really going to be a problem. They did great. Fiona is pregnant and her dad (the king) dies. Now it's up to Shrek to either become King or find the one other person who could possibly fill the position. I loved it.

Sleep Shifting

Well if people can sleep walk why can't shifters sleep shift. That would so suck cause in about half the books with shifters they don't remember what they do when they aren't human. People almost never remember what they do when they sleep walk. So it's highly unlikely that shifters would remember what happened. They'd probably just wake up somewhere else possibly with blood on them if they hunted (I do mean rabbit or deer). Can you imagine the problems it might cause if there was some kind of attack on a person? It would be bad for the shifter that's for sure.

28 Weeks Later

I did enjoy this movie. Basically it's not bad but not great either. It's basically one big trailer for the next one. They think they've gotten all the zombies (Rage victims) out of Britain and well dead. So they have one section really clear and they bring people back into it. Of course they is the American Army. Well they missed one and everything goes to hell really fast.

Sorry this was late. My mess up.

A arguement for single children.

I have noticed that most super hero's are single children. Spiderman, Superman, Aquaman, Green Lantern, Wonder Woman, Magneto, Professor, and many many more. Yes some of the X-men have siblings but usually only one of them has super powers. The one that comes to my mind as both of them having super powers is the Wonder Twins and they kind of suck.

Gifts from no where

I guess I'm just a bit paranoid but I don't trust gifts that just show up from no where. Who sent it? Why did they send it? Is it poisoned? These are just a few of the questions you should ask. Books and movies are just filled with random gifts showing up and people using them. Usually that person gets in trouble later. I'm so coming up blank with examples but I know it's like a major plot point in all the horror movies. Well I'm running out the door for my allergy shot so I'll try to think of them later.

Coyote Dreams by C.E.Murphy

Coyote Dreams by C.E.Murphy. Pages 408. Science Fiction. Book Three in the Walker Papers. Joanne Walker is a Shaman. She didn't choose to be a shaman she was told to be one by coyote. She was a mechanic. She liked being a mechanic. Now she's a police man who solves the funky crimes that could kill everyone and end life as we know it. In this one everyone starts going to sleep and not waking up. She needs to find out why and wake them up. I really like this book. She incorporates Celtic and native American myth into her books with amazing skill. I can't wait for the next one.

Spiderman Three the movie

Spiderman Three was possibly the best spiderman yet. The black stuff that is venom falls from the sky. It gets spidermans suit and makes it black. Apparently it also makes him stronger and more violent. It also made him act stupid around women and dress badly. Of course Stan Lee makes an appearance. Spiderman seems to create most of his enemies. Of course so do most of superhero's. I always find that interesting. I've heard a few people say they thought this movie was either silly or that Peter was extra whiny but I didn't see that. I have always thought Peter was whiny and actually thought he was a little less whiny. Maybe it was because I saw it in IMAX. Well have a nice day and happy viewing.

Pain Killer Jane

Pain Killer Jane is a show on the scifi channel and it's surprisingly good. I wasn't sure I'd like it but I was like shrugs tivo can get it for us and we can watch a bit. The premise is that Jane can get hurt lots and not die. They're not sure what would kill her cause falling 42 stories to the ground didn't do it. They think if her head is severed it'll kill her. No she's not a vampire. She is part of a government agency that tracks people with special abilities and makes sure they don't use them. So like our government to put a stop to things it doesn't understand and can't control. I'm not sure how long it'll be good for but I'm enjoying it currently.

Old Gods New Books

I love it when people use myth in their writing. This doesn't extend to King Arthur stories. I'm really really sick of those. However other myths written into new works can be done very very well. They can also be done very poorly. I think I certain understanding of the god/goddess is important. Athena is goddess of war. Unless you have a really really good back story that's how it is. You don't have to become a Greek historian to use the myths but you do have to do a little research. Like buy a book. You aren't going to impress most people who've put a lot of time into studying Greek myth so you're really looking to get people with a passing knowledge. You can even introduce characters that don't exist if you have a good story to go with it. The only problem is that they have to match enough that you're not like oh no that doesn't work. So I hope to see more myth in books.

All Together Dead by Charlaine Harris.

All Together Dead by Charlaine Harris. Pages 323. Science Fiction. This is part of the Sookie Stackhouse series. I love Sookie. She's possibly my favorite female character. This time Sookie is going to a vampire convention. Of course everyone tells her not to go. She decides that it's important for her to go anyway. If she didn't go things might have been better for her but things might have been very much worse for others. I loved this book so much that I thought bout reading it again right when I finished it at 3:30 am. Of course her ex bill, Eric, and her new boy Quinn are all on this trip. Check it out.

Reading minds

We always think of the good things when it comes to reading someones mind. Knowing what you are going to be able to get away with or not. Knowing when you can push the bidding at an auction and when someone is willing to go all the way. Knowing when your honey is cheating on you. You get the idea. But what about when you don't want to know. You only want to be normal. Well if you can shut it off that's great. What about if you can't shut it off? You're walking down the street with your guy and he sees a girl that's hot to trot. Now you know all about it. You know how she stacks up against you. You know the reason he's with you is cause he can't get her. It would so suck. I'd probably lock myself in my room without any human contact until I died.

only you can save the universe

It must really suck to be on the side of good. How many shows say to the good guy that only they can save the world or universe? And in the shows it happens every week. They replay angel and charmed every morning while I'm getting ready for the day and it would so suck to be one of them. I vaguely get that angel is trying to work off his karmic debt but the charmed ones. I mean what a gift to get from your relatives. You can never have a real life you can never get to close to normal people cause they'll get hurt. With angel he ends up protecting all the people who work for him all the time. I mean sometimes they can protect themselves but most of the time he's saving them. Oh and these jobs don't make money. Angel sometimes makes money but usually not so. So you're looking at holding down a normal job and saving the world. Ick!

Claimed by Shadow by Karen Chance.

Claimed by Shadow by Karen Chance. Pages 374. Science Fiction. This is the second book in this yet unnamed series. The first one was touch the dark. I think this is a good author and I love her books. As you can see by the speed between my last post and this one. I also have my worries that she might pull a Laurell K Hamilton. I don't want yet another book about sex I have lots of authors for that. Right now the character has only ever had sex once. She was a virgin until the end of the second book. So far the first two books are safe :). The main character can jump time to fix things in the time line that other people have screwed up. A lot of people want her dead. All she wants is a nice quiet life. That is so not happening though. She was raised by vampires and kept in ignorance of her powers until well the first book. I'm not writing it up very well but I do suggest reading her. If you're a bit shy of trying it cause of the Hamilton thing wait until the next one comes out and I'll keep you updated.
