Hard Magic by Laura Anne Gilman

This is the first book in a series called Paranormal Scene Investigations. I loved it. Loved it! I can't wait for more. Gilman does great work. The series follows a group of paranormal investigators as they break new ground in the magical world. Their group is called. Paranormal Unaffiliated Private Investigators or P.U.P.I. It's a great combination of CSI (the original) and the Dresden series.

Dead(ish) by Naomi Kramer

The ghost of Linda is haunting her ex-boyfriend and possibly several others in an attempt to find peace. It's really a novella and while I enjoyed it I'm not sure I'd have paid much for it. If her other books are longer I might pay a few bucks to enjoy them.

Fair Game by Patricia Briggs

The Alpha and Omega series gives you a more complete look at the world than the Mercy series even though they are placed in the same universe. It's good to travel up the ranks and see the political monster that the werewolves must become in order to survive. Being attacked by a serial killer wasn't in their plans but it appears to be happening anyway.

Enthralled Anthology

Like most anthologies there are good and not so good stories. Unlike most anthologies this one is heavy on the good stories. A few of these are in the middle of series so you might want to make sure you're up to date in those series before you jump into them with both feet. Otherwise you might find out that you know to much when you go back to fully enjoy the older stories.

Night Watch by Terry Pratchett

Sir Sam Vimes is so much more than he ever wanted to be and now he's reliving parts of his past because of a crazy accident. I love Pratchett and laugh even during some of his more serious novels. You should jump into the magic of discworld and enjoy stories as much as I have.
