Even White Trash Zombies Get the Blues by Diana Rowland

I'm really looking forward to book three in this series. I enjoy this zombie coroner and her crazy antics. She may need to eat brains to survive and not stink like death but that doesn't make her a monster. Okay, so it does, but she really is trying to have a better life. She'd like to live without having to look over her shoulder for bigger evils, hunters, and her probation officer.

Bitter Seeds by Tregillis

This book is long and complicated and I loved it. I will start book two when I can finish wrapping my mind around this one. Set in world war II Hitler has genetically altered super soldiers complete with their great benefits and their huge crazy faults. Churchill has warlocks (although he doesn't know it) complete with their secrecy and good intentions. After finishing this book I'm still not sure who I'm rooting for and what any of their goals are. The only one I think I can understand is the crazy psychopath who seems to be running most of the show for her own amusement.

Libriomancer by Jim C. Hines

This is a new series by (local author) Jim C. Hines. Libriomancers can pull items from books (within a set of rules). Based in Michigan, Isaac, reads and catalogs books so they can be used in the field. He was retired from field work for his safety and the safety of others but the magic calls to him. So when he's attacked he jumps right back in. Check out this great book and wander around MI like only a native could. Enjoy :)

Hard Bitten by Chloe Neill

Again a direct continuation of the last one. Again I enjoyed it. This one had a bit of a twist. Looking forward to the next one that came out in August (I read this in June it just isn't hitting the blog until Sept, sorry). I think I might be sad to see this story come to an end but happy cause if she drags it out to long it's going to go sour.
